Exercise Boss Lift
In January of this year Managing Director Bob McCosker took part in a Defence Force initiative - Exercise Boss Lift.
As an employer of a Reservist member currently serving in East Timor, Bob and other “Bosses” from around Australia were invited by the Australian Defence Force to take part in a four day escorted tour to East Timor.
Here they were able to observe the skills and activities of the Reservists in a frontline military environment.
They were able to inspect the facilities, including the Black Hawk base where they were taken on a flight tour over the country side and up to the rifle range.
One up at the firing range they had the opportunity to fire a variety of machine guns and steyr rifles.
Each employer had a day with their own employee where they displayed a variety of activities, including the use of their equipment, and a military dog demonstration.
Bob found it was an awesome experience and was extremely impressed with the individuals currently serving over there.
He says his opinion and respect for the service men and women is absolutely unwaivable.
Bob found the attitude, respect and skills of each of the Reservists absolutely incredible and is grateful for the experience he was offered.
After this first hand encounter Bob would like to convey the message to everyone that our Reservists are an extraordinary group that have earned the respect of all of us.
